What Happens When a Curious Heart Hears the Gospel?

• Pray for courage – That those who quietly follow Christ will be bold in sharing their faith when the time is right.
• Pray for peace – That the message of Jesus would bring peace to those coming from different faith backgrounds.

“Why is my friend so different?” 

This is the question asked by Mamadou, a speaker of the Pular language, when he noticed a change in his friend. His friend had a newfound peace that couldn’t be ignored. And the journey that followed in Mamadou’s life is one we can all be encouraged by.

Mamadou shares with us:

“I am a faithful Muslim man. A while ago, my friend Karim changed radically. He seemed more peaceful and happier. I was curious to know the reason for this transformation. After several questions, he decided to confide in me that he listened to a radio program called TTB. Karim told me that this program spoke about Jesus and His message of love and peace. I was immediately reluctant, fearing that it would turn me away from my faith. But curiosity won out, and one day I decided to listen to this program in secret."

“The first time I listened to TTB in the Pulaar language, I was surprised by the sweetness and sincerity of the messages I heard, and what really attracted me was that this program is done in my language. The stories of changed lives and inner healing touched me deeply. Although my beliefs were not the same, I found comfort and inspiration in the words of Jesus. As the weeks went by, each time I listened, I felt an inner peace that I had never known before. I began to incorporate Jesus’ teachings about love, forgiveness, and compassion into my daily life. I have yet to share this part of my life with my family, as I fear their reaction. However, I am grateful for the positive impact that TTB has had on my life.”

We rejoice that Mamadou is being introduced to Jesus through TTB. Let’s continue to pray for him and that he will continue to learn more about God. Pray today that more Pulaar speakers will encounter the love of Christ.
