Reaching the Diaspora with Hope and Truth

June 30, 2025

Prayer Points

  • Pray for the diaspora – That those living far from home would find a spiritual family and encouragement through God’s Word.
  • Pray for strength – That weary hearts would be refreshed by the gospel and renewed in their faith.
  • Pray for fruit – That THRU the BIBLE programs in native languages would lead many to a deeper walk with God.

Leaving home in search of opportunity or safety comes at a high cost. While people may find material improvement, the change can bring feelings of disorientation, loneliness, and invisibility. Yet, it’s often in these quiet, aching moments that God draws near with His comfort.

That’s the focus of today’s story from Filip, a Serbian immigrant living in Canada. His experience shows how hearing God’s Word in your own language can bring deep hope and comfort.

Filip writes:

“Greetings from Canada! I was born in Serbia, but I went to Canada at the age of 25 to find a better paying job. I got married here and am very happy to listen to THRU the BIBLE online. I like to listen to programs in Serbian. I rarely have the opportunity to speak my mother tongue here, so this cures some of my nostalgia for Serbia. But, what is most important is that these programs strengthen my faith and nourish me spiritually. After a hard day, the Word of God restores my strength. It is a refreshment and a great blessing to me. I read the Bible and listen to TTB. Sometimes my wife joins me too. She makes us tea and we listen and study together with Dr. McGee and the Bible. These are special moments that bring us closer to God. We feel His presence, feeling Him speaking to us, and see how our hearts are changed when we study His Word.”

As you pray today, ask God to bless and multiply the ministry of THRU the BIBLE to the diaspora around the world. Pray for immigrants who feel the ache of homesickness, the pressure of daily labor, or the challenge of living between two worlds. May God’s Word continue to strengthen and restore them.
