Lay down those idols

“But the Lord your God you shall fear; and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.” However they did not obey, but they followed their former rituals. So these nations feared the Lord, yet served their carved images; also their children and their children’s children have continued doing as their fathers did, even to this day. -2 Kings 17:39-41
Welcome to World Prayer Today. Our journey through South America continues today as we thank God for listeners like Jorge who are hopping on the Bible Bus with us every day. He shares:
“Blessings, brothers! May God continue to help you and give you much wisdom to continue to edify the people of God, and for those who are not yet believers. The Word of truth is greatly needed here.”
Jorge is right. While the majority of Peru would consider themselves Christian, many mix their beliefs with rituals and Andean pagan beliefs. As God’s Word goes out today in Spanish, pray the Holy Spirit uses it to clear up any confusion on who God is and how He wants us to worship Him. May theirs be a new generation of Peruvians who lay down their idols and are blessed to know and serve the Lord.
