Rooted in faith

December 12, 2024

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes.” –Jeremiah 17:7-8

When life feels uncertain, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by fear and doubt. But trusting in God’s plan can transform our lives, even in the most difficult circumstances. That’s what Sopheak, a farmer in rural Cambodia, discovered after hearing the story of Joseph on THRU the BIBLE.

“I was struggling with hopelessness and a fear of failure in my work. Listening to Thru the Bible, I heard the story of Joseph in the Old Testament, and it completely changed how I approach life. His faith in God through many hardships inspired me to trust God with my own farming and finances. I stopped letting fear overwhelm me and started approaching life with more faith. Now, my newfound confidence and trust in God have spread to my family and neighbors. I even began leading a Bible study in my community, sharing the hope I found.”

Thank God that we can trust Him with all our worries. Today, let’s pray for more people in Cambodia and all over the world to lay their burdens at His feet and watch as He moves in their lives.

Lord, we thank You for being our hope and strength. We lift up Sopheak and all those who are learning to trust You despite their challenges. Strengthen them as they rely on Your guidance and let Your light shine through them to impact their families and communities. Help us all to trust in Your plan, knowing that we will be like trees planted by the waters, steadfast and unshaken by fear. May Your Word continue to bring hope to those who are struggling, and may they find peace in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
