A Joyful Heart in a Hard Place – One Ethiopian Listener’s Story

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. - Romans 10:17 

Ethiopia is a land rich in history and culture, known as one of the earliest regions to embrace Christianity. Yet today, many Ethiopian believers face challenges in practicing their faith. With religious and political tensions, economic hardship, and persecution against those who convert from other faiths, the need for spiritual encouragement is great.

Despite these struggles, God’s Word continues to transform lives. Through THRU the BIBLE’s broadcasts in Amharic and Oromo, many Ethiopians are hearing the Good News and finding hope in Jesus Christ. In the midst of trials, they are learning to lean on God as their refuge and strength.

When I am listening, I am filled with happiness and joy! My area is Muslim-dominated and I have understood through these programs that we can reach the unreached.”

• Pray for protection for new believers – That God’s protection and provision will be extended to new Ethiopian believers.
