Hope in Hard Places: God at Work in Ethiopia

Some of the deepest faith is formed in the hardest places. When life is uncertain and danger is near, God’s Word becomes not just a comfort—but a lifeline. That’s the reality for many in Ethiopia today, where conflict continues to impact daily life and believers often serve in remote and insecure areas.

Despite these challenges, THRU the BIBLE is reaching listeners with God’s truth in their heart languages—bringing peace where there is unrest, and hope where despair tries to take root. One of those listeners is faithfully serving his country while finding spiritual strength in Scripture.

This story comes to us from a service member in Ethiopia:

“I live in an unsecured area where there is no peace. I am in the military and have been listening to THRU the BIBLE’s Tigrinya program for many years with my friends. I experienced spiritual restoration in my life and have been blessed through this radio ministry. I have gained a lot from this program, which helped me in my military service and to serve my country in this way. Please remember us in your prayers, that God will bring peace to our country and allow us to visit our family while we are alive.”

Praise God that even in the midst of conflict, His Word reaches those who need it most. This soldier’s testimony reminds us that God’s peace isn’t limited by borders, politics, or hardship. Through the faithful ministry of THRU the BIBLE in the Tigrinya language, the message of Jesus continues to transform hearts, even in war zones.
